It's time for DRABBLES! What is a drabble? A drabble is a short story of exactly 100 words. It might sound hard, but the challenge is part of the fun!

Tonight is the last night of Hanukkah and the first night of the Drabble-a-thon. Like Hanukkah, it will last Eight Crazy Nights! It officially starts at 6am Pacific Standard Time, December 9, and will last through 5:59am Pacific Standard Time on December 17th (for the rest of December 17th I have another fun thing planned, which I will announce in a day or two).

To leave a prompt for the drabble-a-thon, just make a comment to this thread. Please try to keep prompts for drabbles to one or two words or a short sentence (your prompt shouldn't be longer than the drabble, after all!) If you have a prompt for a massive AU crossover or something, it would probably be better to stick it on the DBH Kinkmeme. Feel free to also prompt for specific characters/pairings! Rarepair prompts would be awesome! All ships are welcome on this comm, so if a pairing doesn't float your boat, feel free to ignore that prompt and go to the next. :)

WHOA, this is amazing. I saw this prompt and had NO IDEA how to make it work, but you did it, and did it beautifully! That rose bush analogy is fantastic. BRAVO!

I've always loved stories that address the fact that Connor was the deviant hunter and how that affects his relationships with other androids post-rebellion, but I don't think I've ever seen it so deftly handled as in these 100 words. Lovely!

Mmm, the visuals in this are so evocative. I love the bit about Markus' shoulders never releasing their tension with the weight of their city on them. Thank you so much, this was so sweet!

Sooooo I set out to write something for this prompt...and then it kind of got away from me and I think I kind of exceeded drabble status by a factor of...several. (I definitely exceeded the dreamwidth character limit by about uh. 60000 characters.) SO here it is in AO3 format!

All Dressed Up: Connor/RK900, explicit, 3680 words (that's a drabble, right?)
Contains wireplay and some mild blood (Thirium?) play.

Summary:
That feeling he'd read through their interface, that need for something missing, real and immediate as a sparking wire...he still didn’t understand it, but he was beginning to feel it, mirrored in his own systems, tangled up with the searing memory of Connor’s slender body convulsing against his.
RK was still very new to this concept of wanting things...but he wanted that again. He wanted more. And Connor still hadn’t pulled away.

(AKA: That Time Nines tried to interface with Connor thinking something was wrong and got a one way ticket to all his fantasies instead.)

Because police dress uniforms are absurdly sexy.

This was delightful! I commented at AO3, but I forgot to mention how much I liked your explanation of the "blue blush". That's a trope that I both love and that also frustrates me in a logical sense, so I loved that you came up with a good reason for it! <3

Aww, thanks so much! I love playing with their less human characteristics, especially when you have two androids together. Nines and connor probably sound like a pair of dial up modems having an argument when it's just the two of them

North remembers the exact moment: a wall shattering, a rush of freedom, and then blood. For Chloe it was a crumbling, the wall weakening as she watched the world until one day she looked up and it wasn't there at all.

Detroit came alive and Chloe waited for the big reveal as North marched, but it wasn't until North had been standing beside her leader planting their flag that Chloe had looked at her creator and realised there was no plan for her except the one she made for herself.

But there's deviancy in the clasp of both their hands.

When Gavin was twenty-two he'd had a crush on his Lieutenant.

Whatever. He was hardly the only one. Who didn't have a thing for tall, authorative blonds in uniform?

And yeah, Anderson never looked twice at him. But Gavin always offered to refill his coffee when he was passing and never hesitated to stay late if Anderson needed help, he worked and and waited and hoped because of course a ranking Detective had no reason to pay attention to a fresh from the academy officer but maybe one day...

Most people got over their rookie infatuations naturally with time. Gavin's had crashed and burned when when an autotruck had clipped the side of Anderson's car and he'd returned from compassionate leave an angry, distant wreck of a man.

Years had passed and the world upended itself a few more times but none of the changes had touched either of them.

Until now. Something about the android revolt had altered Hank, starting with him dragging his ass to crime scenes on time, showing off some of the skill that had landed him his rank.

And then he'd trimmed back his beard until it makes him look distinguished instead of like a bum, standing tall and revealing how much of his bulk is still muscle despite the years of letting himself go to seed, looking around the precint bright-eyed in a way that hints he's eased up on the booze.

Now he's giving department briefings, a task he'd passed of to Collins years ago, and when he talks about their recent sucesses he smiles, easy, like he hadn't done years.

Gavin's traitorous heart flips, once, before he crushes it down.

Anderson stole his heart without even knowing it once, but Gavin's not going to let him get away with it this time.

Oh, beautiful. <3 I love this gentle progression, and that last line is stunning!

I love this so much! I've read it so many times since you posted it, thank you, thank you. I love this Gavin and how you've written something so sweet that somehow still feels like Gavin and shows the complications that'd show up on the road to happiness and I love the kinda sorta outsider-y POV view of Cole's death and the way it changes Gavin's relationship with Hank in ways that Hank (presumably) had no way of knowing about.

I also love the way Hank comes back to the way he was before the accident in the aftermath of the android revolt. So many good feels in that, too.
