What is a BigBang?
A Bang is a type of fan challenge in which writers and artists of all kinds work together to produce new collaborative content for the fandom. This particular BB is focused on the relationship between Lieutenant Hank Anderson and the android Connor/RK800, from Quantic Dreams’ Detroit: Become Human.
Who is allowed to participate?
Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you’re new to the fandom or has been clinging to DBH from the very first day; this is all regardless of your level of skill and/or popularity across social media!
Is there a theme? (ie. “Home,” “Winter,” “Fluff,” “Blue” etc.)
No theme! The only requirement is to have HankCon as the focus of your piece.
Is this a romantic-only event, or can I come on board whilst having Hank and Connor exclusively in a father-son relationship?
Father-son dynamics are a difficult thing to promise, seeing as this is a ship-oriented event. A few participants, however, have stated to be working on fics without explicit content - more casual storylines, so to speak. As of now, unfortunately, that’s all that can be said on that front.
Are crossovers allowed?
So as long as HankCon remains the focus, absolutely!
What’s the schedule like?
Please check our Schedule page to access all the relevant dates.
Can I continue a piece I’ve been working on or edit an old one?
If they’re already partially published somewhere, then unfortunately no! All entries must be new and worked on with your partner throughout the BB. That being said, you are allowed to use plot bunnies you’ve had for a long time.
What genres/warnings/ratings are allowed?
You can make whatever you’d like! All ratings are welcome as long as they’re tagged accordingly.
What art mediums are accepted?
Traditional art, digital art, moodboards, vids, editing, music, manips, animation; the sky’s the limit!
What are the general requirements for art/fic?
Please check our Guidelines page for detailed information.
Can I co-write with a friend?
Of course! But when submitting your story summary, make sure to list both you guys’ names as writers, so there will be no misunderstandings.
What if I miss a deadline?
Message us ASAP!
What if I need to drop out?
We know sometimes things get out of hand for one reason or another, so you’re free to pull out of the event should the need arise. But if it happens after you’re partnered with someone, make sure to bring it to our attention immediately! The sooner you tell us, the easier we’ll find a pinch-hitter for your assigned partner. Just please understand that by dropping out you are essentially giving up your idea to someone who will take your place; they will not use your work, no, but they need to be able to continue your plans in order to transition smoothly with your former partner.
Wait…what is a pinch-hitter?
A pinch-hitter is someone who steps in if there’s a problem or emergency and a writer or artist needs to drop out. So basically: a savior!
Okay! So how do I sign up?
